Suhr Guitars : Because Ordinary Is Overrated
John Suhr spent decades repairing other people's mistakes, working at Fender's Custom Shop, and quietly deciding he could do better. Spoiler: he was right.
At Suhr, the vision is simple : design and produce the best musical instruments possible. Founded in 1997 in Lake Elsinore, California, the brand combines obsessive attention to detail, hand-selected tonewoods, and a PLEK fret dress on every single guitar that leaves the factory. Every. Single. One.
Suhr took vintage Fender specs, identified what made them great, and quietly eliminated everything that didn't. Better tuning stability, compound radius fretboards, stainless steel frets : turns out perfection just needed a little help.
Suhr models available at Guitar Freaks:
- Classic S : The iconic double-cutaway, done properly this time
- Classic T / Alt T / Alt T Pro : Vintage T-style soul with zero tolerance for mediocrity
- Standard : The high-performance workhorse in HSS, HH, and HSH configs
- Modern : For players who find vintage specs a little... quaint
- Modern T : When you can't choose between a T and a Modern, why compromise?
- Pete Thorn Signature : Studio-grade versatility for the chronically indecisive
