About Guitar Freaks - Boutique Guitar Shop in Belgium
There are a lot of guitar shops out there. Most of them will sell you anything. We are not that kind of shop.
Guitar Freaks is a boutique guitar shop in Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium, built by the team behind Bass Freaks. After years of obsessing over the low end, we decided six-string players deserved the same treatment: a place that actually understands what you are looking for, and why it matters. And no, we are not the Konami arcade game.
The story of Guitar Freaks
Bass Freaks has been in the boutique instrument world since 2016, shipping over 3,500 high-end basses to players in more than 50 countries. Along the way, one question kept coming up: do you do guitars too?
Now we do. Guitar Freaks is the answer to that question, a dedicated space for high-end electric guitars that do not compromise, built on the same foundation: deep knowledge, honest advice, and a genuine love for instruments worth playing.
What we stock
We do not try to carry everything. We carry the right things. Every instrument here was picked because we would happily keep it ourselves.
Suhr guitars for the benchmark build out of Lake Elsinore, California, where every guitar gets a PLEK fret dress before it ships. Mayones guitars, handbuilt in Gdansk since 1982 by about forty people in one workshop. Duesenberg guitars for Art Deco semi-hollows that look like nothing else on a stage. Chapman Guitars for spec that normally costs twice as much. Infinia guitars from Terneuzen in the Netherlands, where we are one of only four dealers in Europe. And Legator guitars for extended range, 6 to 9 strings and multiscale, without the boutique price.
If you want the two instruments that answer most questions, they are the Suhr Classic S and the Duesenberg Starplayer TV. If the amp is the problem rather than the guitar, the Neural DSP Quad Cortex and the rest of the Neural DSP range are on the same shelf.
What you will find here is the kind of guitar you remember for the rest of your life.
Custom orders
Already have something specific in mind? We can help you build it. From the body wood to the last screw on the strap button, we will guide you through the spec process so the result actually matches what you had in your head, rather than something that looked good on paper. Suhr through their configurator, Mayones through their custom shop, and Infinia, where everything is built to order anyway.
The showroom
Our appointment-only showroom is in Louvain-la-Neuve, 25 km south of Brussels. Open Monday to Saturday, 11am to 7pm. Sundays are possible only for emergencies, musicians on tour and the like, and subject to availability.
Appointments are not a formality, they are how we make sure you get our full attention when you walk in. No background noise, no other customers to compete with. Just you, the instruments, and enough time to make a proper decision. Coffee is always hot. Beers are always fresh.
Who we are
We are the same team that runs Bass Freaks and Sarg's Guitars, which means years of experience in the boutique instrument world, a network of trusted builders and collectors, and a fairly unhealthy passion for tone.
We respond to messages quickly, we know the brands we carry inside out, and we will always tell you what we actually think, even when that means talking you out of something.

Shipping worldwide
We ship high-end electric guitars to players across Europe, the US, Japan and beyond. Every order is packed with the kind of care you would expect when the people doing the packing are guitar players themselves. Import duties are the buyer's responsibility, but getting your instrument to you safely is on us.
Our pictures
Every instrument is photographed in house, with no editing and no colour grading. What you see is as close to real life as we can get, and the instrument pictured is the instrument you will receive, unless stated otherwise. We take that seriously, because buying a guitar you have not held is an act of faith.
We are happy to share extra images on request, though between our multiple stocking locations, coordinating them takes a little more time than it might look. If you have a specific concern, a particular area of the finish, the back of the neck, whether the cat really is that beautiful, tell us exactly what you need and we will do our best.
Serial numbers are not shared as a matter of store policy. We have learned the hard way that some people use them for purposes that have nothing to do with buying an instrument, and we would rather protect our customers and our inventory than make life easier for the wrong crowd.
