A Ned Steinberger design. You swap the instrument's strap buttons for the ones in the box, fit the lock base to the strap, and from then on the strap goes on and comes off by pulling a single release button. No jaws, no clips, nothing that quietly works itself loose over the course of a set.

Gold is the one for instruments with gold hardware, where a black or nickel lock would be the one wrong thing on the whole guitar. D'Addario charges a little more for this finish and so does everyone else.
